2020 Membership
"I just wanted to say that joining 2020 has really made a difference to my practice. I attended a free course given by Chris Frederiksen in February 2007 (Going Paperless) after which you contacted me with a view to joining 2020. At the time, cash flow was very tight and I was struggling to collect fees from clients. You sent me a copy of the “Billings and Collections” CD prepared by Ian and Chris. To be honest, I was a little sceptical about the amount of good a CD could be.
After listening to the CD it was like a light bulb had been turned on. It all seemed to make sense; standing orders for clients, fee billing agreements, having the balls to dispose of PITA clients etc. I still listen to the CD (and the others sent) regularly on my itunes as I am working away. These guys (Ian and Chris) really know what they are talking about. They have been there and bought the T-shirt! Now the cash flow is a lot better (still needs more work) but I am more focused on collecting and billing my clients and removing the dead wood from my practice.
I remember telling my girlfriend all about the Billing and Collections CD and how it had helped me to collect the fees from my clients and improve my cash flow. She said I must call and thank you for all your help and to fill in my membership form immediately, as there could be many other benefits I may be missing out on.
On becoming a member I was very impressed with my 2020 Manual. I have used many of the pro-forma documents from the manual and have written a strategic plan for my practice. This is something I would never have undertaken prior to joining 2020. I now feel I am working towards a better practice. Hopefully selecting the correct clients and putting the correct procedures in place from the outset will set me up for a good practice in the future.
Joining 2020 is easily the best thing I have done since becoming a sole practitioner. The 2020 Annual Conference at the NEC was another great event arranged by 2020. I was introduced to a host of associated organizations, such as Rand One and Logic Office, who I have since gone on to trade with. I have also benefited from reading many of the books suggested by Chris Frederiksen; “The World is Flat” and “Good to Great” were particularly good. Keep up the good work 2020!"
