- Disconnect between CPE and training. Firms addressing soft as well as technical skills.
- Continued movement toward compensation committees and away from formulas.
- Mergers sizzling. Large firms going outside of their traditional borders.
- Firms raising the bar on equity partner promotions: more use of non-equity partner positions.
- Renewed focus on fundamental firm-management practices and work processes.
- Existing partners being held more accountable for their performance.
