We recently facilitated some Managing Partner Focus Groups to discuss the impact of C19.
It was really interesting to hear the views in such an environment where people feel they can share with like-minded people the issues of today without fear that these issues and concerns will go to the wrong places!
What is so pleasing to hear is that so many of the attendees were reporting some of the best productivity figures, profitability figures and had made some serious inroads into becoming totally virtual and, from an IT prospective, indifferent as to whether fee earners are working from home or the office.
Of course nobody has a crystal ball but we can all agree that the summer project for the majority of the accounting profession (if not done so already) is to migrate as many clients to Cloud Accounting as possible and to ensure that the firm has an IT infrastructure that will support a long term working from home situation.
Additionally, the notion that working virtually covering audit, accounts preparation, tax returns, VAT, payroll as well as practice development and practice management is now challenging all of us with, I think we should be pleased to report some considerable success so far.
